My Path & Beliefs

My practice only continues to evolve - this photo was taken on Samhain this year, with my 2-month old son in my arms. This is what my practice tends to look like these days, one-handed while holding my child.

Herb witch, kitchen witch, moon witch. Creatrix, artist, healer. To sound more credible I call myself a second-generation green witch, even though, despite her eternally witchy ways, my mom is forever in the broom closet. It took me years to actually embrace the title of Witch myself, always cautiously referring to myself as an "energy worker" or "modern mystic" or simply "spiritual". Finally, after years of minimizing my practice and identity and leaving a dysfunctional and unsupportive marriage, I said "fuck it, I am a WITCH, dammit!"

I'm now in a healthy relationship with a wonderful man, a hereditary witch himself. My path continues to be solitary, but deeply supportive of his own practice, and vice versa. Honestly, I'm all over the place - I study herbalism and Tarot, I'm a reiki practitioner and an artist. I'm not Wiccan, and barely pagan; I acknowledge deities but only really follow the Moon (and Hekate, of course). I have a day job and a side-hustle; most days I barely have time to pull a card or make myself a cup of tea. I am now a #momwitch.

Together my partner and I strive to keep our identities and practices genuine, in hopes of passing our knowledge down to our children, should they decide to share in our beliefs. Instead of tiny, disposable altars that could be quickly hidden away, he and I have a combined altar above our fireplace in our living room. Our besoms and pentacles are out on display. We have cultivated a home full of positive, supportive, calming energy for our children to grow up in; one that visitors and loved ones comment on all the time - "it feels so good when I come over here!"

My path and beliefs are, above all, acceptance; for my mother, for my children, and for myself.
